American Foreign Service Association Honors Outstanding Officers

On Thursday, June 24, the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) presented the 2010 AFSA Awards to eight Officers who have made outstanding contributions to the Foreign Service community and the field of diplomacy. The presentation was held in the Benjamin Franklin Diplomatic Reception Room of the Department of State in Washington, D.C.

Clements International would like to congratulate all of the award recipients for advancing diplomacy and aiding Americans abroad:

James A. Fox, at the US Mission to NATO, received the AFSA Post Representative of the Year Aaward for his commitment and activism in representing AFSA overseas.

Anne Bridgman, at Embassy Bratislava, received the Avis Bohlen Award, which recognizes an outstanding family member of a Foreign Service employee.

Sarah S. Genton, at Embassy Madrid, received the M. Juanita Guess Award, established in memory of the former president of Clements International, for demonstrating outstanding dedication and imagination in assisting the families of Americans serving overseas.

Allie Loraine Almero, at Embassy Kabul, received the Nelson B. Delavan Award for making contributions to effectiveness, professionalism and morale at overseas posts.

David M. Zwach, Kathryn A. Kiser, and Diana Briton Putman, received Constructive Dissent Awards for making extraordinary accomplishments through integrity, courage, and constructive dissent.

Amb. Lowell Bruce Laingen received the Lifetime Contributions to American Diplomacy Award, for advancing American diplomacy throughout his life.

Clements Featured in The Independent Broker

Clements International was recently featured in the Spring 2010 issue of The Independent Broker, a biannual publication of Miller Insurance Services Limited, which aims to bring topical independent thought leadership articles to the insurance and risk management communities.

The story, titled “Expatriate Insurance – A Growing Market”, explains how continued globalization has led to greater insurance needs in the expatriate community as more employees are working internationally on a long term basis.
