Clements Presents Annual Award to Foreign Service Officer at Ceremony

At Clements Worldwide, we try to help the world be a better place. We also applaud others who do the same. As a leader in international insurance for expatriates and international organizations, we recently sponsored and presented the M. Juanita Guess Award to Sara Butler at the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) awards ceremony, held at the State Department in Washington, D.C.

As the community liaison officer (CLO) recipient of this year's award, Butler was recognized for her outstanding supportive role as CLO while stationed at the American Embassy in Port Au Prince, Haiti for the U.S. State Department. During the aftermath of the earthquake which devastated the community, Butler helped establish a number of projects, including the building of a new playground for children and enhancing the city's Overseas Briefing Center. She was  a positive and reassuring force for many families in an uncertain time.

The M. Juanita Guess Award was established in 1995 by Clements Worldwide to recognize an AFSA CLO who has shown leadership, initiative, dedication or imagination in assisting expatriates and their families serving overseas. The award is named to honor the memory of the former Clements Worldwide president.
